"Before I was formally introduced to yoga, I thought it was boring and slow-paced. Jessica's class completely changed my opinion, showing me how challenging yet enjoyable yoga could be. After testing out various classes and instructors, Jessica's class stood out to me as the clear front-runner. Jessica is incredibly personable and charismatic, but her teaching style is what causes me to return to her class every week despite my busy schedule. Each class, she takes the time to gently adjust any student whose poses may be slightly off, ensuring that each person maintains the correct position. Jessica understands her students and their limits, knowing how to push them to challenge themselves and improve, while still avoiding overexertion or injury. With her helpful assistance, I have grown to love yoga and the strength it gives me. She is a very poised and gracious teacher, encouraging her students to work to their edge without compromising on form and alignment. "I have been a student of Jessica’s for 9 months and cannot say enough good things about her commitment to teaching yoga the right way. Her strong work ethic brings out the best in each student, no matter what their level of expertise. She is a kind and compassionate teacher who, with a simple look or instruction, inspires you to try harder to reach the next level. As a result, you begin to see changes in your mind and body and push yourself to do even more. If she taught 5 days a week in the same studio, I would be there every day and that says it all, since I like diversity in my workouts." -- Mary F

Especially because she is so supportive and spends the time necessarty to help students who want guidance and makes everyone feel comfortable with our personal level of ability. I'm enjoying a level of growth that I wouldn't have imagined possible a couple of years ago. Plus, Jessica is just a downright pleasant person to be around even when the class is on its last set of stomach crunches!" -- Rich B
"I've been a student of Jessica's for a little over one year. I respect Jess' kindnes, honesty and compassion as a professional yoga instructor, but most important as a person. "I first met Jessica over seven years ago when she was taking the yoga classes I was teaching. While there were many other students in the room, her lovely presence and beautiful practice always stood out. When we reconnected a few years later, I was very happy to hear that she had chosen to become a teacher, a path that I knew Jessica was destined for. She is one of the most caring and compassionate yogis I know of, and I feel that our studio, Inner Power Yoga is fortunate to have her as part of our community. Our students love her teaching style, and I am so proud of the wonderful teacher she has become." -- Ursula C
"Started taking yoga about one year ago in the hopes that it would help my back. One day I learned my regular teacher was absent and I was terrified! But, I was in for a wonderful surprise, Jessica! Jessica has a very calming presence. One of the things I really like is how she explains the movements and the reasons why. I love all her little tips; they help me understand a lot better. Now, I love to have Jessica sub. My favorite part of the class?? Jessica's HUGS!" -- Sandie C
"After practicing at home and with other teachers I was very happy the first time I attended a class taught by Jess. She is knowledgeable in the poses and how to tweak them when needed . Best of all is the level of intensity in her classes; they give you something to strive for and a feeling of accomplishment when done and always great fun!" -- Jeanne M
"I have been blessed to have Jess as my yoga teacher for almost two years. She has taught me so much about the importance of body alignment and taking care of myslef both physically and emotionally. I have learned much better methods of dealing with stresses in my life through the power of ujjayi breathing, meditation and my yoga practice. Jess's instruction is flawless, her cueing impeccable. She floats around the room giving instruction and gracefully adjusts me when I need it. I appreciate that so much - it is like an "aha!" moment when she comes around and tweaks you. Jess always asks at the beginning of class if anyone has something they need to work on or if there are any injuries. She will work them into the class - for example, if someone has tight hips, she will work in some hip openers. If someone has a sore lower back, she'll make suggestions for modifications to certain poses. She is AMAZING and I highly recommend her! You will take your practice to a new level!!!" -- Patricia M

"Back in August of 2010, I went to my first yoga class with Jessica. Although I could hardly do a single sun salutation, Jessica was kind and patient with me. Because of her welcoming spirit, I decided to stay the course and attended more classes. It has almost been a year and I have gained so much confidence, my posture is better, my stride is longer and my ability is handle stress is improved. Jessica always encourages me to do my best while reminding me that yoga is an individual practice. I continue to attend classes with Jessica because she offers me the right balance for my needs." -- Katie R

"I first met Jessica when she subbed a class I had taken regularly. As always, I was disappointed to learn we had a sub, but I was more than pleasantly surprised. Jessica is an amazing teacher to students of all levels. She was able to teach the beginners in the class and still provide a challenging class to those of us who have been practicing yoga for a long time. I consider myself lucky every time I'm able to take Jessica's class and look forward to practicing with her many more times in the future." -- Anne W
"I have been taking basic yoga classes for one year on and off before I first met Jessica in the spring of 2011 when I decided to take yoga in the gym. It was a very hard class for me and I was only able to do a few poses. I remember asking her what level yoga she was teaching, and she told met that it was all levels. In six months, I have become comfortable with her classes and enjoy them. The best thing about her teaching style is that she tells us what pose or asanas to do and then she observes everyone. If someone needs an adjustment, she will adjust him or her. It's not watch and copy the person next to you. I also like that she uses Sanskrit words and she starts and ends the class with 'OM' or 'Shanti OM'. -- Hari C
"My first yoga class ever was with Jessica. At first I thought it was just holding poses, something relatively easy, meant for girls. Now it's something I encourage my entire family to do and wish I had begun as a child. One of the main things Jessica helps with, aside from helping men FINALLY be able to scratch the back of their heads, is helping us see and realize all the various benefits that come from yoga (It's not just balance and flexibility). Since I began taking her class I have had ZERO injuries! I can bench press heavy without concern, hit the heavy bag without discomfort, and play soccer games without tweaking any muscles. Over the last year, I learned that some of the twists and positions we do actually help internal organs as well. In the last year I have also tried other yoga classes. I recall one day thanking Jessica after class on how lucky I was to have her as my FIRST instructor; I'm not sure what it is, and want to believe that it's her sequencing that sets her apart but no class has ever been exactly the same! Neverheless, I make it a point to maker her class every week; it holds priority over my other workhouts thanks to its huge benefits. Jessica has a very relaxing voice yet very assertive and also finds the time to give her students one on one assistance." -- Arash A
"When Jessica teaches yoga, in her calm, reassuring and encouraging manner I work incredibly hard. And it's fun. This active form of meditation takes me away from the stress of life. It's impossible to worry about stuff when you're concentrating on movement, form and breathing. Her sense of humor, yet attention to detail and insistence on proper form gives the exercise a pleasant flow that's a glimpse of what vinyasa flying would feel like. To flow from posture to posture, breathing easily and in rhythm, that's my goal." -- Jacenta B
"I have been taking Jessica's vinayasa/power yoga weekly class for the past year in combination with taking yoga classes on all other days of the week. Jessica's class has become my favorite class of the week due to her warm, calming, and encouraging presence and teaching style. Jessica makes very helpful comments and suggestions throughout her class to improve students' poses. Her class is very dynamic and is a fantastic workout. The music is just great. Jessica introduces new elements into her class regularly, which not only makes her class more interesting, but also leads to advancement of the students' yoga practice. The wonderful feeling one obtains by the end of her class is hard to match." -- Nader R
"I am a beginner and have never been able to sustain a regular yoga practice before but everything came together for me once I started practicing with Jessica. She is an outstanding yoga instructor in every way, from her technical expertise to the environment she creates in her classes (peaceful, non-competitive and non-judgemental). She has a habit of walking around the class as she teaches; adjusting an arm here, a waist there, and encouraging you to breathe. It has been amazing to me how different the poses feel with her "minor" adjustbments and I incorporate that feeling into my practice. Breathing with the movements is indeed transforming, as Jessica said it would be." -- Barbara M
